Good evening,
I have just downloaded Across on to a new laptop and I cannot complete installation as, according to the message, it cannot locate Microsoft Word, Excel or Powerpoint 2000 or later, however Microsoft Office 2010 IS installed.
It should be the latest version of Across as I have downloaded it from the web page via the link I was sent from Across.

Am awaiting (still) a response from Across, but any help/advice in the meantime would be appreciated.
Thanks

it is MS Office 2010 (for Windows, running under Parallels), and not Office for Mac 2011 (which Across woudn't accept)?
If it is 2010, maybe re-installing it (to the default program folder) may help. I had installed Across under Parallels, and installed Office 2010 afterwards. That worked.

Hi all,
A quick update to thank you for your time and advice (Claus/AAV). I am not ignoring you!
Paola - I think the problem my partly due to me inadvertently having installed Office 2010 as 'Click to Run' as opposed to MSI (in other words being internet based as opposed to fully installed on the machine. I hope to get to the bottom of this today and, Paola, I will let you know.
Again, thanks very much for taking the time to assist.

Hi,
when I try to install Accross to my computer I get this message: "Not enough storage is available to process this command" (or something like that in Finnish).
A friend told me that I should expand the storage in RegEdit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control , but I but I didn't find RegistrySizeLimit there and the system won't let me create one, either.
Did anyone find any solution to this problem?
Best regards,

I have a different issue when trying to install Across 5.0, or 5.0 SP1.
On the screen that follows after "Create a new database" dialog, I get this:

I also tried to install SQL 2005 separately in advance, but no difference.
I have Win 7 64-bit and all installations were done with Admin rights.
Any hint greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

I just installed a new computer with Windows 8 today after using a Windows XP one for nearly nine years. Downloaded and installed Trados 2014 with no problems, so thought I'd try my hand with Across. Got this ZIP file with a confusing array of files, but opened a likely-looking one called "setup.exe". After a few seconds, this message comes up:
"There is no Across product installed and there are no files or patches to install. Setup will exit now."

I thought the idea of a Setup file was to like, set up a program that is not already installed! What gives? ▲ Collapse

Installer or Patch? | Dec 27, 2013 |

Where did you get this archive from? Most likely it was only a patch, it can update your installed Across to the latest state only.
To install Across anew, you need installation files (also a zip file, about 1gb size). | | | Rowan Morrell நியூ சிலாந்து Local time: 05:17 உறுப்பினர் (2003) ஃபிரன்ச் - ஆங்கிலம் + ... Pretty sure it was the main one | Dec 28, 2013 |

The file I got was 1 GB in size, from the Across Download Centre. The name of it was Across_5.7_en_Client_PE.zip. I believe the PE stands for Personal Edition. However, the Across site is not at all clear about what's new and what's only a patch. It is frankly very confusing, and I find it to be very poor in that respect. I read the instructions included in the Zip file, and it just said to launch Setup.exe and away you go.
I tried downloading another archive, almost as big, called Across_5.7_en_Client_Online.zip, but the result was exactly the same - the Setup.exe file closed almost immediately after opening.
If neither of these were the correct files to download, please tell me where I CAN locate the archive to install Across 5.7 on my new computer, because as I say, the Across site itself is as clear as mud about it!

According to your description, files you've downloaded are correct. I've just tried to download same archive, unpack and execute, and I was successful.
Note, that when I unpack setup.exe only from zip, I am also receiving error like you did.
Please try to unzip folder completely, and not only extract setup.exe. | | | Rowan Morrell நியூ சிலாந்து Local time: 05:17 உறுப்பினர் (2003) ஃபிரன்ச் - ஆங்கிலம் + ... Problem Solved! | Dec 31, 2013 |

That was the key to solving my problem - I had to unzip the entire folder! *Smacks forehead* Now why didn't I think of that?
Well anyway, it's all installed now and looks to be running beautifully, although I had to re-register because my licence key is on my old computer! Don't think that will matter though.
Thanks so much once again - not for the first time, a software problem turns out to have a very simple solution! A very Happy New Year to you.
