I just finished setting up my new iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017), 3.4ghz i5, 24 GB RAM, triple-screen work machine!
Sadly had to install parallels and Windows 10 for one client's software to work properly, but it all works fine.

I was first sold on simply replacing my 2013 21.5 inch iMac with another 21.5 inch, but then possibility of fitting a source pdf right next to a full size MS Word document on the main screen, while also having Mail and Skype open one dedicated screen and dictionaries/glossaries open on the other sold me with the 27 inch. It's huge!
Please share your setups!

On the move: T430
Not very exciting but gets everything done.

I had the Dell external monitor to the left portrait but just changed it back to landscape to test it out. Can't tell what I prefer just yet! It's good to have the option to be able to flip it to portrait though, don't you agree!

These never worked for me!
I'd be using them fine for a moment, then they'd snap back to their previous position or would obstruct the editor window!

I hope all your stuff, including those 3 monitors, are not all taking their power from one power point....
Me? I'm happy with a MacMini and one of these

I don't need or want more than 1 display.

Can you use this setting for heavy work and super large files, what are the cons?
Oh yes, two beautiful pieces. But if I am typing long hours I will want my external keyboard and external mouse, because I like to be further away from the screen. It would be OK for short work, recreation browsing or typing an email message.

Drawing too much power from one power point could be a fire risk.

Give the Macbook a go. It's quite fast with the SSD and chip speed. My only problem with this machine was the 8 gigs of RAM.
I like to have everything open at once, so would end up slowing it down a bit.
Wordfast worked like a dream. Had no other problems with it!
It IS just a portable setup though, I would rather not use a laptop 24/7.
I did do a 145k word project on it for 45 days, which did my head in but the computer survived!

Just compare the following scenarios:
Scenario 1: PCs needing 90 watts, household needing 50 watts, solar panel providing 120 watts. Thus, 20 watts come from the public grid.
Result: 20 watts of onventional power (coal, gas, nuclear) is consumed.
Scenario 2: PCs needing 50 watts, household needing 50 watts, solar panel providing 120 watts. Thus, 20 watts go to the public grid.
Result: 20 watts of onventional power (coal, gas, nuclear) is saved.
