Considering the symptomatology, the cardinal symptom of amentia (imbecility) is the very idea that modern translation is a self-sufficient profession, not heavily related to journalism, rewriting, transcreation, business, politics, psychology, and others, not just an add-on to the "field" sciences. As our professor used to say:There's no such thing as "just translation" !
