It's definitely worth it. I've been with Proz.com since 2002, but only started getting jobs through this site after I have become a member. The membership fee - which is not a whole lot of money, by the way - paid back after the first order.

For me it was the start of my professional way as translator, when I became paid member of ProZ. Sure, in the beginning you have to take some "urgent jobs". However, this was my way to start good and lasting relationships to agencies and clients. After less than a month I've got my investment out.
PS: ... and I still discover interesting parts of this site, like this forum for example.
