I got this email today from the site:
"Join the Game Localizer Pool at ProZ.com Hi Fiona Grace, Have you seen ProZ.com Pools™? We have been screening experts in various fields and specialties for more opportunities. Based on your profile, it appears you may be a fit for the game localization pool. I hope you are interested in joining game localizers providing services such as quality assurance, testing, translation, voice over for games on all platforms and genres."
Nowhere in my profile does it say anything about game localisation. Nowhere is the word "game" mentioned. Or even the word "localisation".
I am used to agencies mass-mailing translators who do not even work in the subject area or specialisation they are looking for, but I did not expect it from Proz, a site where I have been a paying member for over a decade, whose mission is supposedly to "provide tools and opportunities that translators, translation companies, and others in the language industry can use to network, expand their businesses, improve their work and experience added enjoyment in their professional endeavors".
And where I have never, ever, ever, offered any services remotely connected to game localisation.
I sincerely hope this is a bug and that it gets fixed. ▲ Collapse
