We have created a what's new page on the website with more information http://www.translationzone.com/campaigns/freelance-translator/sdl-trados-studio-2014/ This include a What's new sheet, a 5 minutes video and a 10 minutes video that show the new software. I hope this helps. Regards Massi

Hi, if I upgrade (I have a 2-computer freelance license) would it be possible to run one copy of 2011 and one of 2014 while I get used to the new program? Best wishes, Steve K. | | | ghislandi Local time: 03:37 English to Italian TOPIC STARTER
Hello it will be possible to run both 2011 and 2014 in parallel. We have actually modified the way licensing work between 2011 and 2014. It is now possible to use the same license to run both on the same machine. You should deactivate 2011, then activate 2014 with the new license code. This new key will make both 2011 and 2014 work on the same machine. If you need to use 2011 and 2014 on 2 separate computers you then need 2 licenses. Regards Massi <... Denise Phelps wrote: I have studio 2011 freelance plus, and I've bought the upgrade to 2014 - but is this a two computer license too? According to the TranslationZone site, there are two upgrades to 2014: regular or Plus. The regular has 1 license; the Plus has 2 licenses.

[Edited at 2013-09-30 19:30 GMT] Sadly, this does not appear to be strictly true. I have just installed Studio 2014, and when I switch back to 2011, I have to choose all my languages again, and when I switch back to 2014 again, I have to do the same.

I've gone through the same process and you have to choose the 5 languages every time you close one application and open the other. hope they solve this! I have noticed Studio 2014 runs much faster than Studio 2011 and that the ribbon interface is quite handy and easy to use. | | | suggestions for improvement | Oct 1, 2013 |
Well 2014 looks OK so far, but improvements I would still like to see are: - one command term entry (two are still required in 2014: ctrl+f2 and ctrl+f12); - allow several autosuggest dictionaries to be selected at once ('select all', rather than one-by-one as is still the case in 2014); - have numbers be called up by autosuggest; - no need to select two segments before you merge them; program should know that if you select merge you want to merge with the segment ... Or did this happen once? Did you uninstall 2011 before installing 2014? It's not necessary by the way, I'm just trying to understand the process you followed. Thanks Paul

As every start up | Oct 1, 2013 |
Paul, I have the same problems with the languages and I have to select my languages for 2011 and 2014 at every start up. An another problem: 2011 is not in the context menu (Create project or Open document), only 2009 and 2014. Regards, Geneviève | | | License does not support SDL Trados Studio 2014 | Oct 1, 2013 |
I have just downloaded and installed Studio 2014 - I have bought an upgrade version. I have returned my license for 2011, rebooted the computer and now when I try to activate Studio 2014 am told that The License does not support SDL Trados Studio 2014. Anybody knows what to do next to solve this so I can keep on working?

Mette, I think you have to upgrade your license to 2014 (under My Licenses) on the My SDL homepage before it would work ... | | | Pages in topic: [1 2 3 4 5] > | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » SDL Trados Studio 2014 is now launched Protemos translation business management system | Create your account in minutes, and start working! 3-month trial for agencies, and free for freelancers!
