***Multivariate empirical orthogonal functions***, i.e. the periodically extended empirical orthogonal function (PXEOF) technique, and simple univariate empirical orthogonal function (univariate EOF) technique are then used to decompose and reproduce multi-site periodic temporal and spatial variability via a nonparametric method, which is able to reproduce spatial and at-site rainfall extremes.

analyse multi-variée basée sur l’utilisation des fonctions empiriques orthogonales (PXEOF)
PXEOF is described in Kwang-Y. Kim and Qigang Wu, "A Comparison Study of EOF Techniques: Analysis of Nonstationary Data with Periodic Statistics." The data are periodically divided into new variables which are then expected to have similar statistics. Whatever you use, you need to keep (PXEOF).

Indeed, "analyse multivariée des/basée sur..." Merci!!! |

fonctions orthogonales empiriques multidimensionnelles
les notions de temps et espace me font pencher plutôt pour "multidimensionnelles"
