I am sure this is not the right term, but I think what is meant here is the time it might take for a ship (or truck) to find a new cargo to carry. http://www.cargo-search.com/

: Probably a good call, but why the hard hyphen? Your web reference needs one as spaces aren't allowed, but surely it's 'cargo search' in ordinary language?
