English term

being embodied

English to Indonesian Other Psychology
A missing piece of the puzzle for many trauma survivors is the ability to trust themselves and feel safe in their own body. Those who have survived childhood trauma may have never had the experience of being embodied or feeling safe

(merasa) utuh

Namun, jika melihat letaknya di dalam kalimat: ...may have never had the experience of being embodied, rasa bertubuh akan lebih pas: ...mungkin tidak pernah mengalami rasa bertubuh.

By using the term embodied we mean to highlight two points: first that cognition depends upon the kinds of experience that come from having a body with various sensorimotor capacities, and second, that these individual sensorimotor capacities are themselves embedded in a more encompassing biological, psychological and cultural context.
