"di belakang layar" vs. "di balik layar" I agree with Pak Erich; both are equally correct. However, I'm still wondering if anyone knows what the Kamus Jurnalistik has to say about this term. I will wait until later tonight to see if anyone else can contribute.

Di balik or di belakang layar? Both are the same; both are actually translation of "behind the curtain". The phrase, I guess, refers to theater stage where you can see the stage act, but not the director and his/her directions: the "behind the curtain" talks. So, anything unsurfaced (or supposed not to surface) will be called "xxxx di belakang/balik layar" with xxx = pembicaraan, perundingan, gosip, informasi, tawar-menawar etc.

pembicaraan-pembicaraan di belakang layar I found this following Pak Erich's suggestion with 'layar'. There are twice as many Google hits on this than on '... di balik layar'. I think this might be what I'm after, but I'll wait the 24 hours to see if anyone comes up with a better solution.

not 'pembicaraan latar belakang' There are several instances of 'pembicaraan latar belakang' on Google, but I doubt this is the 'istilah jurnalistik' that I am seeking. Please don't post 'pembicaraan latar belakang' as a suggestion. Does anyone have the 2003 UI 'Kamus Istilah Jurnalistik'? Would be a good place to look for this istilah.

Thanks, Pak. I'm not certain this is what I'm after. This has the sense of sneaking around, gossiping, plotting, which isn't quite the same as getting info 'on background'.
