English term

angel investor

GBK English to Finnish Bus/Financial Investment / Securities
Definition from VentureLine:
Angel investor is a private wealthy individual that has no association with a venture capital firm, investment fund, etc. The "angel" invests his/her private money into what he/she believes to be promising opportunities, i.e., normally startup companies. Sometimes two or more "angels" will jointly invest into opportunities to spread the risk.
Example sentences:
Investors seeking a more active role may ask for common equity. This enables the angel to take a place on the board of directors and allows for much more active participation in company management. An arrangement such as this works well for angel investors who are keenly interested in hands-on involvement in the business. (Business Management Daily)
Angel investors are typically retired professionals that are looking to give young entrepreneurs some funding. It just kind of implies that they are nicer than regular investors. There are network sites that try to put people into contact with angel investors. (theangelinvestorsite.com)
I am purchasing a business and expanding it. I have found an angel investor and I need to know what forms and documents need to be written and what needs to be filed. (Entrepreneur)

Bisnesenkeli

Definition from own experience or research:
"Angel investor" is known as "business angel" in Europe. The Finnish translation is usually "bisnesenkeli".
Example sentences:
(Wikipedia)
