Backplane
De term wordt ook zo in het nederlands gebruikt (1 woord). Het achterpaneel (letterlijk) is uitgevoerd als "patch bay", "patch panel" of "patch board" waarop connectoren zitten om zaken aan te sluiten zonder de kast open te maken.
