This is from a contract for the purchase of an organ for a church in Suriname from a company in the USA. The contract is drawn up in the USA.
The description of the instrument:
- One Allen organ [model] including pedal board and bench;
- standard walnut finish and tropicalization;
- 120 Volt preparation;
- 8x speaker cabinets in white finish for main organ;
- 4x speaker cabinets in white finish for antiphonal organ;
- 2x bass speaker cabinets in utility finish.

I'm absolutely sure that the finish is "vernis".
Utility finish: "Easily create a beautiful food-safe finish on wood utility ware such as bowls, butcher blocks and utensils.Heat-treated walnut oil Utility Finish hardens to a beautiful satin finish.Follow with Oil Wax Finish for a satin sheen. Made from beeswax, carnauba wax and walnut oil."
I could not find any terms in Dutch that mean exactly the same, so I can only advise you to describe the term as I did.
