My text describes a mixed stand of trees with different sized groups, one of
which is "colp":
diàmetre inferior a 30 metres o superfícies inferiors a 700 m2
The next one up is "bosquet":
entre 30-60 metres o superfícies de 700-2800 m2 (bosquets)
And the largest is "clap":
diàmetres compresos entre 60-80 metres o superfícies inferiors a 5000 m2 (claps).
I am not sure what term is used in English for 'colp'. I'm also puzzled about 'claps' but will post this as a separate question.
Many thanks in advance!

Don't know if this is too late (I've been away) but....
I've usually used this term (it comes from "Coppice" but I think it has taken on a general sense of small sized wood in popular parlance).

Comment: "Thanks for your help, Berni. In the end, I consulted a forestry expert in the UK and he says I should simply say 'small groups' for this one. "
