There was evidence of radial shrinkage in the cake similar to that experienced in the previous pilot scale runs.
This cake shrinkage may typically be alleviated by adjusting freezing rates, or implementing an *annealing step in the lyophilization process*, however the current control system on the Stokes production freeze dryer does not possess these capabilities.

These adjustments can be made if warranted when the planned control system modification has been completed.
The radial shrinkage does not appear to affect the product stability.
