It sounds you want to keep track of your translating jobs, possibly keep a list.

Hi!
I use File Maker Pro. It is not a translation software but a database and you have to adapt it to your needs. I downloaded a kit for agencies and made some changes - and I am very happy with this solutions.
You could do the same with any database such as Access. I did try it, but as I am not a specialist, I was a little bit lost with Access (I use it as a glossary and love it but couldn't arrange it like I wanted to have an overview of my jobs).

TO3000 and Projetex are the worst, but the only two specialized pieces of software for that purpose that I know.
I've bought the first one, but uninstalled it and cleaned the registry the next day of real-world testing. Perhaps Customer Pro-File can (but I'm not saying it will because I don't use it myself): http://www.landsw.com/translators.htm | | | QUOI சைய்னீஸ் - ஆங்கிலம் + ... Depanding on your needs... | Feb 13, 2008 |
Excel is probably the easiest and cheapest since most of us have it and use it. Using data filter you can easily know what's in, what's out and $ matters.
One step up will be database such as MS Access which comes with various templates. But you need to modify them to suit your needs. If you have a friend/someone who is good at Access, it's definitely worth investing some money to set up a system for you. I have seen a 6-person translation company use Access to manage all their work, from booking to invoicing (linked to an account program) and it appears to be quite adequate.
Hope this helps.
