Could you give me some suggestion about finding good cosmetics & beauty glossaries online. I need to find very good and "modern" glossaries about cosmetics (hair).

I hope somebody will hear our SOS, I need within Sunday a 'Cosmetics/Hair' glossary as well.

It searched it but it turned out to be not an easy task.

I work quite a lot in the cosmetics and beauty fields in the language pairs EN/FR>ES. I am afraid that I have not found yet a good, up-to-date online glossary or dictionary for my languages.

What I do is work around indirectly: for example, the website http://es.osmoz.com/ is dedicated exclusively to perfumes. It is in 5 languages. If I find in EN or FR a term whose translation I need I just look at the equivalent page in Spanish.

But when you translate cosmetics you normally translate for a particular brand, which has its own terminology and house style. Some brands will translate "body milk" as "loción corporal", others "leche corporal", others "leche para cuerpo", etc. Most top brands (Lancôme, Chanel...) have their websites in differente languages, so you toggle between languages to find equivalent terms (which have been validated by the brand).

It is very annoying, I know. Now, if you are not translating for a specific brand, and you need terminology about hair products, I would recommend you to visit the website of a brand specialising in these products, like Wella or L'Oréal, and open two windows in your screen, one for the English and the other for the Spanish version, and compare terms. The good thing is that the information is well structured with drop-down menus for different types of products.
