Excessive Answer !
I just submit this answer since i want to add an agreement comment longer than 255 characters. And i want the asker not to consider this answer to be selected, it itself consists of other answers.
So;
First of all, i agree all answerers.
Pebbles are some small stones with a specific shape like smooth rounded and especially worn by water.
Gravels are some smal stones without a specific shape and are coarse. They are composed of rock fragments, broken in any way.
And
Shingles are definitely different. They are coarse beach gravels of small water-worn stones and pebbles or a stretch of shore covered with such gravels.
Please chose appropriate one from earlier answers.

: Adil bey, sizin sözlük biraz out-of-age hatta out-of-time olmasın, bu diktionary'de 'papple' kelimesi bulunuyor mu gerçekten, veyahut Kurtar Vazosu'ndaki "Çakıl" olmasın bahsedilen, şaka bir yana, sabah mahmurluğu herhalde, hürmet / muhabbetlerimi sunarım

any of the three already offered, however...
Each of the suggestions so far made are correct in essence, however it appears that they have different shades of meaning, viz:
-pebble: a small rounded stone, especaially worn by the action of water...
-gravel: small stones and pebbles, or a mixture of these with sand...
-shingle: small water-worn stones or pebbles lying loose esp. on a beach...+ a beach, riverbank or other area covered with such small pebbles or stones....
(all from Random House Websters' Electronic Dictionary)
Therefore I suggest that Asker's selection should better depend on the exact context used in the Turkish text.

i. especially olacak tabii ki...
ii. belki de bu notu yukarıda Asker\'e sorular bölümüne girmem daha uygun olacaktı...
--------------------------------------------------
Note added at 12 hrs 25 mins (2004-11-01 07:47:41 GMT)
--------------------------------------------------
Benimkisi yalnızca önerilenler arasındaki ince anlam farklılıklarını vurgulayıp Asker\'e daha bir yardımcı olmaya yönelikti. Değerlendirme dışı tutulması doğru olacaktır. Teşekkür ediyorum.
