I agree with the others about "chato". It is too informal for the written language even in Brazil. Desinteressante, enfadonho, and aborrecido are better options, in my opinion.

"Ela disse que a participação ... ficou bem enfadonha depois..."

desinteressante

Uninteresting...My first choice for boring.... but if the idea is that I lose interest in the task because it's wearisome and tedious, then "entediante" might be a better choice... like the Spanish document I've been working on for three days... Bo-o-o-o-r-r-r-r-i-i-i-i-ng!!!! Even more boring than answering KudoZ queries. :-) Cheers
