I need to translate this expression from English into French (I suggest an equivalent in Spanish). It is a tiltle for a press article about a resignation from a post. Thank you!

neutral CMJ_Trans (X) : très bien mais l'anglais ce n'est pas tout à fait cela.....///le problème c'est que l'anglais et l'espagnol ne disent pas la même chose....

J'ai bien spécifié de l'espagnol au français, je considère mon anglais très pauvre.

I'm confused by the Spanish version: in English "to call it a day" means to decide to stop, for example in the case of a job, the person concerned has decided he or she has had enough and is calling a halt to the proceedings.
