Japanese term

王褝寺層

Japanese to English Science Geology
Describing the land under a building:
地形・地質・地下水に関する調査:

該当地は沖積低地に位置している。
該当地は表層土層の下位に粘性土及び緩い砂質土を主体とする沖積層が約15m程度堆積し、その下位には固結した粘性土を主体とする上総層群の王褝寺層が厚く堆積している。

It seems like 王褝寺層 is another term like "alluvial layer", but I can't find this anywhere. Maybe there is a kanji typo, or it is just a Japanese name that should be read as-is in Japanese pronunciation? Any ideas? Thanks.

Ozenji Layer

I don't think there is any English translation as 王褝寺 is proper noun (there is a district so named in Kawasaki City, close to Yokohama).
上総層群 is a land layer of part of which also seen in Chiba Prefecture (上総 being old name for this area, like 江戸 was old name of 東京). Yokohama is only the other side of the Tokyo Bay, and seeing the Bay as a water pool, then there is a reason to assume the layer is same and contiguous formation.

When you google you hit few website by keying 王禅寺層, then you come across few like this ------
王禅寺層とよばれる100万年前の地層からわき出る『権現さまのわき水』。「こうしたわき水が集まって、鶴見川になっているんですよ」と松木さん。
