zufolge, as you know, means according to, as a consequence. Zufolge des Berichtes or dem Bericht zufolge.

I was also surprised to see this question come up again after all these years. I rarely offer an opinion on the German language any more. I certainly respect the opinions of the German native speakers. For the sake of discussion, what do you think of the following statements?

: Please use "dem Bericht zufolge", because "Zufolge des Berichtes" is not common, only "infolge des Berichtes", which has a different meaning
