Amt a plusieurs significations : service, position, bureau, etc. Ici, le "service de la ville", au sens global, peut être compris comme "fonction publique municipale". D'ailleurs, "beamter" signifie "fonctionnaire". Staatsbeamter : fonctionnaire d'Etat, Polizeibeamter : Fonctionnaire de Police.
