French term

craquages

French to English Medical Marketing Diabetes medication
Privation constante & culpabilité lors des craquages qui sont fréquents.

We're talking about patients who have been diagnosed with diabetes and their efforts to follow rules about what to eat and when, and their frequent failures, abandon, giving up or whatever.
Any other ideas most welcome.

Discussion

Leslie Marcus Apr 30, 2011:
Yield? My first impression is that you'll probably have to turn the sentence around somehow and find a verb instead of a noun for "craquages". Would anything along the lines of "yielding to temptation" work? Otherwise, I think "give in" might be better than "give up".

Just a possibility that comes to mind in the context.

giving in to temptation

I can't think of a single word in English for this.

OK - how about "guilt at succumbing to temptation" or if you really need to be concise "weaknesses" but that removes the idea of temptations.

Thanks for this, now how do I fit it into the space on the ppt slide???
