French term

l'hypertype

French to English Science Livestock / Animal Husbandry Cat breeding
This has something to do with trying to refine a cat breed to the point that the cats start to suffer with genetic problems.

overbred (type)

it's definitely negative and seems to be used mostly when referring to cats. it sounds to me like overbreeding, when breeders try too hard to breed in traits that they think the judges will go for. I know the Persian got into big trouble because flat noses became the 'in' thing with judges, so breeder got them so flat and small that the cats were unable to breathe.
