Es cierto que yardarm también significa penol, pero penol es el extremo de la verga. Entonces, como tu texto dice \"to the end of the yardarm\", eso de \"en el extremo del penol\" me suena extraño. Es como decir \"en el extremo del extremo\". No sé si me entiendes.
