Estoy traduciendo un libro de "Mechanical properties of gray iron" y me encuentro con el término "yielding theory" en el siguiente contexto:

"Combined tension and compression stresses: The externally applied axial stress and the tangential stress produced by internal pressure were independently varied to determine the ultimate strength under the different combinations of tension and compression. This demonstrates, in accordance with the YIELDING THEORIES, the axial and tangential tensile strength of the iron without fracture."
