The “pressure increase” curve establishes the relation between the pressure increase Δp (static in this case) obtained across the fan as a function of the volume flow Q measured at the inlet to the fan.
Correspondingly, the "power consumption” curve establishes the dependence between the volume flow Q and the fan power consumption P (in this including dust).
The required flow and pressure increase, the “design point”, is shown at the “pressure increase” curve. In many - but not all - flow systems the pressure drop will be a function of the square of the flow.
