"Dry rub" is the title of a chapter in a cooking book I'm translating to Dutch. I can't provide any more context, because of confidentiality, but I really need help. I know it means something along the lines of a mixture of spices and/or herbs that is rubbed into the skin of a piece of meat or fish, but I don't know what word I would use in Dutch to indicate such a mixture. Any native Dutch translators out there who can help me?

: Dry rub wordt heel veel gebruikt in het Nederlands. Dry moet er wel bij.

Discussion
Het onderscheidende kenmerk van droge en natte rubs is dat ze bedoeld zijn om tijdens de bereiding op het vlees te blijven zitten. Als je een stuk vlees uit de marinade haalt, blijft er bijna niets op het vlees zitten. De smaken moeten dan al zijn ingetrokken.
