I am stuck with the second of these sentences, there are two things I don't understand, from the part between asterisks, but I will post them separately. Firstly, 'enguixada crua' - what does raw plaster have to do here? Can anyone enlighten me?

I understand the term "crua" means the plaster on the wall is left unpainted and unpolished, with an "unfinished" look.

pale sandy fawn (beige) plaster
A village like Cadaqués, would fit the bill for the options that Peter and Darwinista provide.

Yet, in context, "es confonen amb el terreny", indicates that the villages become almost "camouflaged" with the "terrain", with the light brown soil...
So, that's why I advance this option, that may work, if one considers that there are not that many "raw white plaster" villages in Catalunya, if you compare it with "los pueblos blancos de Huelva"..., to give a clear example.
Whatever it is, probably the rest of your context can help you to determine it better.
And while I have given my basic agreement to the previous input, I tend to believe that "cru" is referring to the "beige" color, typical of many Catalonian villages.
Vilassar de Dalt, for example, would be a clear example of this "pale sandy fawn, beinge plaster".
