: Bei der Adjektivbildung mit "-bar" ist allerdings "(nicht) resezierbar" gängiger. / Interessant, das ist für mich genau andersherum. Vgl. das Substantiv-Verb-Paar "[Re]sektion"/"[re]sezieren" (aber eben nicht "[re]sektieren").

Uyuni, thank you for the many source links. It's very helpful. It seems that German oncologists use both operabel/inoperabel and resektabel/irresektabel. As mentioned above, I'm not sure why the English operable/inoperable wasn't used but in this case, I will stick with the resectable. Many thanks again. |

Wobei ich aber bei Steffen bin. Sehr viele "Fremdwörter". In der Medizin (wohl auch ein Fremdwort) allerdings nicht ungewöhnlich...
Das Verb "resezieren" bezieht sich allgemeiner auf das Entfernen oder Abschneiden von Gewebe oder Teilen eines Organs und ist nicht unbedingt auf chirurgische Eingriffe beschränkt, also auch auf das Entfernen von Gewebe zum Beispiel mit endoskopischen Verfahren.
Thanks for advising to use "grenzwertig". I never know whether to leave in English or translate it as there is more and more Denglish these days.
