German term

Bahnung

German to English Medical Medical (general)
Context:
"PSR [Patellarsehnenreflex] beidseits schwach auslösbar, ASR [Achillessehnenreflex] beidseits auch unter *Bahnung* nicht auslösbar."

In Russian it's "проторение" (импульса, рефлекса) but I'm not sure about the correct English word for it.

reinforcement

This can be accomplished by asking them to clench their jaw, conversing with them (those techniques should not be used for jaw jerk), or asking them to hook their fingers together and forcefully pull their arms apart (Jendrassik maneuver for lower extremity and jaw jerk reflexes only).[5] Those assistive techniques are collectively called "reinforcement".

If the reflex being tested is the knee jerk or ankle jerk, have the patient perform the "Jendrassik maneuver," a reinforcement of the reflex.

Peer comment(s):

agree thefastshow : I´ve been too theoretical - I think this (general) term will work fine in the context.

Eigenreflexe können durch Jendrassik-Handgriff verstärkt werden: Hände ineinander haken und kräftig auseinanderziehen.

facilitation

Reinforcement proposed earlier by Anne is in the same spirit as is the Jendrassik maneuver. Enhancement is also a possibility.

paired-pulse facilitation (PPF), neural facilitation

I guess it is this : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neural_facilitation
also see the German entry https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bahnung
Unfortunately my Russian is not proficient enough to validate "проторение" though. :)

// No, I meant it, I think it´s good to include the term in Russian or whatever language. Good chance other translators can help straight away and it adds to clarity. My level is ony just about "он слушает внимательно." :)))
Note from asker:
Thank you very much! Yes, I understand that my remark, possibly useful for people of CIS origin, sounds clearly out of place for everyone else :)
