n Germany, VD symptoms can be differentiated in “Drehschwindel”, “Schwankschwindel”, and
“Benommenheitsschwindel” (Berlit, 2012). “Drehschwindel” compares to the English “vertigo”,
“Schwankschwindel” and “Benommenheitsschwindel” to “dizziness”. Dieterich (2004) described
dizziness or vertigo as the “perception of self- or object-motion or an unpleasant distortion of static
gravitational orientation, that is a mismatch between the three sensory systems: the vestibular,
visual, and somatosensory system.” Strupp & Brandt (2008) joined the “mismatch-definition”,
defining vertigo as the symptom of a mismatch of the sensory systems, that play a role in dynamic
spatial orientation.

bout of vertigo; dizzy spell
The Schwindel part, unless a Betrug as in Abzocke - is IMO conveyed by the bout or spell - differentiating this answer from the one-worders.
Vertigo causes dizziness and makes you feel like you're spinning when you're not. This condition can occur for many reasons,
The scientists say that, compared with other types of vertigo, RSV-HSN involves more *severe bouts* of motion sickness.
