: there is nothing wrong with drug store, except that it has lost favor due to the association of 'drug' with illegal substances. If you Google 'drug store' everything comes up 'pharmacy'

The terms used for "farmacia" actually vary quite a lot regionally between countries.
In the UK, a drugstore can sell many items (see link below), but is not authorised to dispense prescription drugs. The equivalent of a Spanish "farmacia" is usually still called a chemist's.

My dad owned one, and the "pharmacy" was the backroom part of the shop/store, where the prescription medicines were kept under lock and key. He was known as the chemist, or shop owner, but he wasn't a qualified pharmacist and had to apply one.
