German term

MFD

German to English Law/Patents Military / Defense Military service
This is from a clause describing instances of military service for employees in Switzerland.

"Dem Militärdienst gleichgestellt sind Hilfsdienst, MFD, Zivilschutzdienst."

I can't find for the life of me what type of "Dienst" is meant by MFD. Does anyone know?

Thanks!

Why don't you ask Roy to post his discussion entry as an answer? Then you can accept this answer and enter it into the glossary - it might well help others. No need for any silo mentality as far as this forum is concerned.

Wow, that was fast! Thanks so much.

agree philgoddard : If you Google MFD plus Dienst, the first hit gives you the answer.
