The screened and de-gritted wastewater will be discharged to the trickling filter pumping station to lift it to the trickling filters. The pumps are sized to deliver Qm. Two duty and 1 standby wet well installed and frequency controlled submersible type pumps each of a capacity of 0.5*Qm are envisaged. Ultrasonic level meters will be installed in the wet well in order to constantly monitor the level in the pump sump and adjust the pump speed accordingly.
The other equipment such as check valves and valves is installed in a dry chamber attached to the pumping station. An electric hoist will be provided for lifting of the pumps.
In order to avoid settlements of solids the pump sump will be designed according to the requirements of ATV A 134. The required volume is calculated as V = 0.9*QP/S. (with. QP = capacity of the biggest pump in l/s and S = maximum switches per hour i.e. 15.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
