Extract:
III- Granting General Driving License to Arabs, Foreigners , and Residents in Syria.

Traffic Law No. /19/ of 1974, and its modifications has specified in Article No. /181/ the conditions whereby Arabs and foreigners may obtain a General Driving License, and if the principle of reciprocity is available, according to the following two conditions:

a) No less than five years of continuous residence in Syria.

b) Obtaining the approval of the two Ministers of Interior and Labour and Social Affairs, in addition to the documents required from Syrian nationals: A resume from the Justice Record, a birth certificate, a signed and ratified residence document, in addition to copies or the documents carried by the applicant: (the private driving license, passport, identity card, and his temporary residence permit).
