Born and raised near Chicago,
Illinois, USA, I earned a PhD in Entomology from the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign.
I specialized in molecular biology,
genomics, and toxicology but also received training in diverse topics such as
ecology, evolutionary biology, genetics, biochemistry, systematics, and phylogenetics.
In 2010, I moved to the south of
France where I worked as a postdoctoral researcher on a collaborative European
grant studying disease in honey bees.
From this experience I learned how to collaborate with an
international group of researchers and how to communicate my research not only
for scientific journal articles but also for government reports and general
audiences.
I created this company to use my skills as a scientist and writer, my
fluency in English, and my competence as an editor to respond to the needs of
non-native English-speakering scientists, to effectively communicate their
research.
I offer English editing
and translating services for scientific manuscripts, cover letters, press
releases, C.V. and motivation letters, conference abstracts and presentations,
and thesis manuscripts.
